REVV project welcomes Matt Solomon, former Formula 3®, FMCS, and GT3 racer

8 October 2020: Animoca Brands Corporation Limited (“Animoca Brands” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that it has hired Matt Solomon, the former Formula 3® (F3®), Formula Masters China Series (FMCS), and GT3 racer, as in-house racing specialist. Matt will contribute his knowledge and experience in professional racing and assist in the development of motosport projects including the REVV token, F1® Delta Time, an upcoming title based on MotoGP™, and at least one additional racing title to be announced shortly.

Matt Solomon began his professional racing career at the age of 11 when he became Hong Kong’s go-kart Junior Champion in 2007 and 2008. Having won several races and championships in Asia, he became the Grand Champion of the Hong Kong International Kart Grand Prix in 2012 and also competed in the CIK FIA World Karting Championship in Macau.

In 2013, Matt entered the Formula Masters China Series (FMCS) and finished as the top rookie with 3 podiums to his name. In the same year, he was selected by Mercedes AMG China and Erebus Motorsport to compete in his first GT3 race. He raced alongside two-time Formula 1® world champion Mika Häkkinen for rounds 9 and 10 of the GT Asia Series, and together they claimed a historic victory in round 9. Matt continued competing in the 2014 Formula Masters China Series, achieving  5 wins, 12 podiums, and 6 fastest laps out of 18 races to finish second in the final standings.

In 2015, Matt competed in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship as a member of the British motor racing team Double R Racing, which was formed by the Formula 1® World Champion Kimi Räikkönen. In that year, Matt raced against current Formula 1® stars Charles Leclerc, Alex Albon, and George Russell, among others.

Matt is currently competing in the GT World Challenge Asia Esports Championship presented by Tarmac Works. Matt drives virtually for Craft Bamboo Racing, an official performance team of Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing that is partnered with Hong Kong beverage giant Vitasoy. He is competing in the Real-Pro class, racing the #36 Vita Juice Mercedes-AMG GT3. The championship kicked off on 6 October 2020 at Monza in Italy and will conclude at Suzuka in Japan on 8 December 2020 (for details, please see here).

The REVV Token (REVV) is the ERC-20 utility token that serves as the primary currency in motorsport blockchain games by Animoca Brands.
