Animoca Brands partners with Coincheck to offer NFTs to mainstream audience in Japan

18 December 2020: Animoca Brands and Coincheck announced today a collaboration to distribute Animoca Brands’ various non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the Japanese gaming market through the Coincheck NFT marketplace to be launched soon. As part of the collaboration, Coincheck will work on listing on its own marketplace the NFTs produced by Animoca Brands, including for F1® Delta Time, and other titles in the REVV Token ecosystem, including upcoming games based on MotoGP™ and Formula E.

Coincheck is one of the largest digital currency exchange platforms in Japan, with over 2.15 million users, and one of the first exchanges to secure Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) criteria for licensing. Coincheck is creating an NFT marketplace, expected to launch in early 2021, that will list NFTs exclusively from companies selected on the basis of reputability. 

Previously, Coincheck and Animoca Brands announced a partnership to distribute the NFTs utilized in The Sandbox through the Coincheck NFT marketplace (refer to announcement of 16 September 2020).
