Animoca Brands Launches Doraemon Gadget Rush
The iconic futuristic robot cat is back in Animoca Brands’ new puzzle game with a twist
Hong Kong – February 5, 2015 – Animoca Brands, the developer and publisher of mobile games based on globally loved brands such as Doraemon, Garfield, Ultraman and more, today expanded its Doraemon franchise with the launch of Doraemon Gadget Rush, a new tile-matching puzzle game with a twist. Joining the hit time-management game Doraemon Repair Shop, the new game Doraemon Gadget Rush is now available free on Apple’s App Store℠ for iPhone®, iPad® and iPod touch®, and on Google Play™ for all Android devices.
Doraemon Gadget Rush mixes tile-matching gameplay with role-playing elements and social features to offer an exciting and one-of-a-kind gaming experience. The game tests players’ wits and dexterity as they help Doraemon take back his futuristic gadgets from extra-terrestrial techno-thieves who have stolen them in order to study our civilization and technology. Players must solve mind-teasing puzzles to help Doraemon and friends rescue their stolen gadgets before they fall into the wrong hands.
Doraemon is the title character of the Japanese manga and anime series by Fujiko F. Fujio. Doraemon’s licensing company, Fujiko Pro, provided Animoca Brands with the license to build mobile games using the characters of Doraemon and friends. First appearing in 1969, the Doraemon manga series tells the story of a robotic cat from our future who travels back in time to look after a boy named Nobita Nobi. The award-winning Doraemon manga has sold over 100 million copies worldwide and was adapted into television series, feature films and even a musical.
“Doraemon is one of the most beloved manga characters of all time, and we are honored to work with Fujiko Pro to bring the pop culture icon to life like never before,” said Robby Yung, CEO of Animoca Brands. “We believe that fans of Doraemon will love the adventures to be found in Doraemon Gadget Rush, while fans of puzzle and tile-matching games will love the challenging and incredibly fun action.”
In Doraemon Gadget Rush, players can blast interstellar thieves to bits by forming a combo of same colored gems on the game board. But they must do so quickly before the time limit runs out. “Fever Time” can be unleashed by chaining multiple combos, and other power-ups are available to add more points and damage. Doraemon's friends Nobita, Shizuka, Takeshi and Suneo can be unlocked to help the robot cat in comic battle. In total, 30 future gadgets must be rescued from the grips of the mischievous
