Until 12 April 2020, players of Crazy Defense Heroes can obtain three new Black Jack cards - the Black Jack hero card, Pinoko tower card, and Kiriko tower card - by opening Black Jack chests in the game. Black Jack chests can be obtained through in-app purchases or by completing the special game event Black Jack Invasion. Black Jack cards will remain in players’ possession after 12 April 2020.

The Black Jack Invasion event runs from 23 March to 12 April 2020, featuring 16 new levels in three difficulties (Normal, Hard, and Crazy) inspired by the stories of the Black Jack original manga. In the event, Black Jack’s rival Doctor Kiriko has turned residents into undead zombies using an unknown poison, and players must help Black Jack and Pinoko to defeat Kiriko and save precious lives. A player avatar of level 6 or higher is required to participate in the special event.

Black Jack is one of the most famous Japanese mangas and anime of all time. It was written and illustrated beginning in 1973 by Osamu Tezuka, the renowned visionary who also created Astro Boy and Kimba the White Lion. Black Jack follows the medical adventures of unlicensed but gifted surgeon Kurō Hazama, widely known as Black Jack, and his assistant Pinoko. Black Jack uses his marvelous (and sometimes unlawful) surgical techniques to save the lives of patients who have been abandoned by other doctors.

The Black Jack manga spawned an original video animation, two anime television series, an original net animation and an anime film.
